Location. The architecturally chic Hudson Hotel in New York City, N.Y., is located in the center of Manhattan on West 57th Street, just one block from Central Park. Hotel Features. This Ian Schrager creation is not just a hotel but an experience in architectural design and space. The lobby is draped by a 40-foot ivy resting on a glass roof, and features a colossal chandelier. Just a few feet from the lobby, the Private Park is a smaller version of Central Park. Ivy- covered walls, a glass ceiling and lofty 45-foot trees overlooking modern garden furniture and antiques create an outdoor refuge. The manicured and landscaped Sky Terrace is a viewing area that offers a sweeping panorama of the city. The Hudson Bar displays a hand- painted ceiling by Francesco Clemente and an illuminated glass floor. The Hudson Cafeteria, a cross between an Ivy League dining hall and a 1940s automat, features comfort food with a modern twist. There are no stuffy conference rooms at the Hudson Hotel, as two floors are devoted to meeting facilities which offer plasma monitors, electronic flip-charts and smart boards.
